Revolver
Revolver was originally developed for a specialist bicycle shop in central London. The project was to create a major element of the interior fittings: to design the means of presenting various ranges of small items, whilst at the same time offering a flexible layout which would respect the dynamic nature of the company. Henny van Nistelrooy thus designed Revolver, a system of shelves which has the ability to both display and store objects.

Though it was designed for a commercial setting, the designer believes that it may be employed just as well within a domestic setting. Its main advantages are the simplicity of its construction and its modular nature: a cantilevered structure consisting of a basic oak framework upon which folded metal shelves are attached. The system works through hooking the shelves onto the wooden structure. The shelves may then be revolved in one direction or the other, by hand.

It is within the simplicity of this movement that the ingenuity of the project lies: when placed horizontally the shelves are optimally positioned for storage purposes; when they are raised and angled, they become slanted display platforms. Modular at will, essential, this project is straight and to the point in declaring its adherence to a resolutely functional design.
