Design Parade – villa Noailles

The villa Noailles permanent exhibition was expecting since a long time. The public attention was particularly focus on its opening this weekend. Jean-Pierre Blanc and his team has won the bet, engaged two years ago, to recount the Charles and Marie-Laure patron’s life.

The exhibition scenography leading by David Dubois and composed by Christophe Ponceau, Sabisha Friedberg, Frederic Teshner and David des Moutis received a favorable reception. The scenography is both simple and respectfull, it is connected to the place history and also to the comtemporary creation.

François Dumas won theDesign Parade Grand Prix. He lives and works in Eindhoven, Netherlands, he was graduated from Design Academy Eindhoven in 2008. The jury chose his Sealed chair and armchair as the awarded project of the festival. The jury also wanted to rewarded his SEB project, Squeezing.

François Dumas, awarded of the Grand Prix won :

- a one-year research internship at Sèvres – Cité de la Céramique
- the participation to the annual workshop Master Class in Master Crafts at the Camper Center in Son Fortesa, Majorca
- an installation at Le Bon Marché Rive Gauche, Paris, between October and December 2010
- the exhibition of personal works at the Villa Noailles in July 2011
- the 3 volumes of Phaidon Design Classic published by Phaidon.

The jury choosed Jonathan Muecke to receive the Veuve Clicquot Award. He lives and works in Detroit, Michigan, US and was graduated from the Cranbrook Academy of Art in 2010.  In the exhibition, he shows the Step Stool in copper, Chair, a project made with carbon fiber and resin epoxy, his Interior Sun, a blinding lamp and also his SEB project, Kitchen Engine.

Veuve Clicquot gives to Jonathan the amount of 10 000 euros. The Veuve Clicquot award also allows Jonathan to produce the original household object of his choice.

The SEB group Design Award was awarded to Eléonore Nalet. She chose to improve the traditionnal ice-cream maker, she created the Gelateria. Eléonore was graduated from the ENSAD (Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs) of Paris and she is currently the Inga Sempé assistant.

Eléonore receives 10 000 euros by the SEB group.

The visiting public also chose his winner during the festival week-end, a plus b designer. Hanika Perez and Brice Genre lives and works in Toulouse. They showed an armchair, Orwell, a lamp, Lume and their SEB project, Flatland, which is reinventing the way we cook through the electrical use of all the kitchen engines.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!

The villa Noailles is proud to announce the 2010 young designers awarded. After deliberation, the jury forming by Naoto Fukasawa, Aldo Bakker, Antoine Boudin, Didier Grumbach, Tejo Remy and René-Jacques Mayer choosed François Dumas as the winner of the Grand Prix, Eléonore Nalet for the SEB Group Design Award and Jonathan Muecke for the Veuve Clicquot Award.

The public also choosed his winner. a plus b designer received the Award of the Public.
