Aldo Bakker and his “creatures” are landing at Charles and Marie-Laure de Noailles’ Villa!

How could we introduce Aldo Bakker? Maybe as an alien in the dutch design landscape…. To start, he is Droog Design father’s son (Gijs Baker)… but this certainly doesn’t make him Droog Design’s son!

We could say he chooses a conceptual aesthetic and strives to bring together culture and nature in his personal work. In doing so, he litteraly gives sens to his shapes. Aldo is a designer:  maybe that’s actually the best way to introduce him.

The work he decided to exhibit  during the festival speaks about time, about eternity. Lacquering his objects with a very time-consuming and expensive technique (Urushi), Aldo questions the mass production process. He creates a time gap, his work is an invitation to meditation .

This exhibition will be displayed in the swimming pool and in the squash.

Come and take your time.
