Pour son édition 2006, le Festival International de Mode et de Photographie à Hyères réunira, parallèlement à ses deux concours, une exposition majeure de la créatrice anversoise Ann Demeulemeester, à ses côtés s'adjoindront Sébastien Meunier, ancien de Hyères qui revient cette fois dans le cadre d'une rétrospective ou encore Romain Kremer, lauréat de l'édition 2005 qui investira la villa d'un défilé-performance, le temps du festival.

La programmation photographique exposera le résultat des commandes passées à Thomas Mailaender et Kathryn Hillier, tous deux sélectionnés l'an dernier dans le concours photo. Parallèlement, les rétrospectives des photographes new yorkais Saul Leiter et Jason Schmidt, mettront en regard deux époques de la photographie de mode au travers des travaux réalisés pour la presse de mode par ces deux auteurs, respectivement entre 1950 et 1970 et dans les années 2000.

Alongside its two acclaimed competitions, the 2006 edition of The International Festival of Fashion and Photography at Hyères also showcases the work of a number of distinguished individuals. This year, the festival hosts a major exhibition of Anvers fashion designer Ann Demeulemeester. This event is accompanied by another show featuring Sébastien Meunier, an Hyères veteran, who comes back this time with a retrospective of his work. As for Romain Kremer, winner of the 2005 edition, he storms the town with an ongoing parade-performance that shall run through the duration of the festival.
In the field of photography, Hyères exhibits work commissioned from Thomas Mailaender and Kathryn Hillier, both of whom were distinguished in last year's photo competition. In parallel, the retrospectives dedicated to New York photographers Saul Leiter and Jason Schmidt juxtapose two distinct eras of fashion photography through images which the two artists shot primarily for the fashion press, respectively between 1950 and 1970 for the former, and since the year 2000 for the latter.
